About the role

Your Opportunity

In this role you will act as the business partner for Operations towards the country management team of which you will be a part. You will also play a key role as the face of Operations and Supply Chain for the Brazilian Market and point of contact for Regional and Global operations.

Ensure demand and supply are aligned to deliver the business plan at optimum cost.

Through the S&OP process deliver to our customers the right product, at the right time, at the right place, with the right quality, at the right cost incl development and implementation of an outstanding customer service performance.

Critical to deliver improved forecast accuracy and reducing inventory days and logistics costs.

Responsibilities

With our Consumer at the heart, your key focus will be:

Strategic Operations
  • The role acts as the Single Point of Contact for Brazil Supply Chain Operations 
  • You will be the Operations business partner for the market and will be part of the local management team.  
  • The role is key to ensure the execution of the Region / Global /Market strategy 
  • In alignment with the Regional Supply Chain Lead, develop the strategy for Planning, Customer Service & Logistics for the country.  Also develop and manage associated activities, processes, people and financial requirements in order to achieve the strategic vision and business objectives.   
  • Through S&OP, deliver to our customers the right product, at the right time, at the right place, with the right quality, at the right cost to provide our customers with outstanding service.
  • Ensure demand and supply are aligned to deliver the business plan at optimum cost.
  • Generate an environment of contribution and debate in the market and between function; managing key internal & external stakeholders is a primary driver and challenge of the role. 
  • Provide leadership and vision to the team.  Commit to the mission and motivation to combine the team's energy and expertise to achieve a common objective, understand the dynamics of effective teamwork to attain higher levels of team performance.
  • Anticipate others’ needs and respond to their concerns and problems.
  • Support and mentor the market team to ensure continuous improvement regarding KPI’s.
  • Respect regulations associated with Supply Chain activities (excise, import, certifications) etc.
  • Collaborate with customers to improve performance & service; share with regional peers
  • Critical to deliver improved forecast accuracy, reduced inventory days and logistics costs
This role is mainly office based with some travel to 3rd party service providers.

Budget
  • Ensure achievement of country objectives by preparing an annual budget to deliver the business;
  • Monitor expense, capital and inventory budget 
  • Monthly monitoring and analysis for all costs related to L70
  • Proactive approach to budget challenges and opportunities  
Process Development / Management
  • Ensure the business (Marketing, Sales, Finance, Ops) achieves monthly consensus on S&OP
  • Engage with Country Manager and other stakeholders to update the requirements and specifications to continually improve Planning and Customer Services processes 
  • Ensure Demand and Supply Planning processes in place and are monitored to drive efficient and timely distribution of products to the market
  • Scrutinize market conditions & competitors to maintain an updated bench-marking assessment
  • Resolve short to medium term supply constraints (i.e. quality, technical) to deliver as agreed
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure an effective Innovation process in the market with the aim of reducing supply chain complexity, increase supply reliability and agility
  • Lead process to monitor, improve, prevent and mitigate write-offs
  • Identify and execute the ideal balance between customer service requirements, inventory optimization, manufacturing efficiencies, including capacity planning, SKU rationalization, planning and execution
  • Optimize the distribution network from plant to customer to improve the service level (lead time, consumer complaint…) and reduce cost
  • Select transportation routes to maximize economy by combining shipments or consolidating warehousing and distribution; while meeting the needs of the customer.
  • Calculate the total system cost of delivering a product or service to the customer.
  • Reduce or mitigate carbon output from transporting materials or products to final customers. 
  • Control & monitor 3PL activities
  • Lead InnovAPP projects for Supply Chain in local market 
People and Organization
  • Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relations with internal/external organizations: motive and encourage direct reports and employees working in a team environment to achieve department, and company goals
  • Plan and direct advancement in functional excellence by assessing criteria for excellence, determining core functional competencies, conducting performance review for reporting managers, and participating in the recruitment of relevant positions on the team
  • Foster an environment that advances staff through effective coaching, professional development, and succession planning
  • Establish a process for aligning day-to-day decisions to the strategic plan.
  • Align to Regional supply chain priorities and deploy action plans. 
  • Visualize the total process and aid in locating problem areas using process mapping, quality improvement, and visualization tools to locate, quantify, and correct root causes 
  • Perform periodic evaluations to maintain processes by gathering pertinent information, such as problem symptoms from knowledgeable sources and carrying these through to the problems, potential causes, and root causes of the problem.

Skills and Experience

The Skills & Experience needed to create your legacy:
  • You will have +10 years experience in Supply Chain. Your familiarity and knowledge across customer service, demand planning and logistics  will be well recognized
  • This experience should have been gained in an FMCG environment but you may have additional experience in high tech, pharma or automotive etc. 
  • You will have driven and managed change in a distribution or industrial supply chain organization where knowledge of international trading practices and global tax principles are vital to success
  • Development of teams across multiple cultures will be a core experience you have gained
  • Demonstrated use of analytical,  collaborative problem solving and negotiation skills.
  • Leadership of both direct teams and matrix / cross functional leadership – managing / directing others.
  • You will have a track record of managing 3rd parties and driving continuous improvement in their performance – service, quality and cost
  • Language Skills: Fluent Portuguese & English; Spanish an advantage
