About the role

Bacardi Servicios Corporativas, SA (Bacardi), Bacardi’s global shared services center based in San Jose, Costa Rica, is looking for high performing individuals who are success driven and interested in a leadership position within the organization. The Tax Analyst position is an important role to ensure the tax compliance of the company and the role will be responsible for the preparation of tax returns and other tax compliance external and internal processes for the company in Latin America. The tax analyst should become knowledgeable in local compliance requirements and filing requirements, should prepare the tax returns or the information required to prepare the returns as per local requirements and make sure those returns and obligations are filed timely and accurately. 


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
  • Execution of the migration of the tax filings work and internal/local tax processes from another team member or local market.
  • Extraction and review of data from SAP for the preparation of the local fillings. 
  • Coordinate the information flow from and to the local finance teams and the local advisors as applicable. 
  • Timely and accurate filing of the tax filings-returns before the Tax Authorities. 
  • Coordination and approval of the tax payments derived from the tax filings – thresholds. 
  • Coordination with GBS of any information required for the filings and ensuring that the information received from GBS is correct for the purpose of the filings and returns.  Work with the GBS in case information needs to be corrected or processes re-designed as necessary. 
  • Review of the reconciliations of the tax accounts on a monthly and yearly basis. 
  • Preparation/review of the Corporate Income Tax provision (current and deferred tax) and complete the tax worksheets for the purpose of Corporate consolidation. 
  • Documentation, implementation and improvement of processes and flows of information for the purpose of generating the tax filings – tax returns. 
  • Keep updated with regards to changes in the law or internally that impact the filings-returns. 
  • Collaborate in the implementation of tax law changes and internal or external audits. 
Measures of Success
  • Tax filings and returns are filed timely and accurately. 
  • Current and Deferred Corporate Income Tax calculation. 
  • Data extraction from SAP feeds tax returns and filings. 
  • Tax payments are done timely and accurately. 
  • Review of the tax account reconciliations timely 
  • Preparation-review of the tax worksheets for consolidation in Bermuda.
  • Tax Law changes tracked and timely implemented.

Key Relationships and Independencies

Your ability to operate and orchestrate seamlessly within the matrix will be critical for your success in this role and of the function. 
This role requires interactions across many functions (Finance & Non-Finance) as a resource to the international markets and service center employees. This role will also work with other Bacardi professionals, specialist groups, and external vendors. As a key enabling position in the service center, a customer service mindset is essential. The desired candidate will deal with confidential and sensitive data and must ensure conformity with policies, procedures, and regulations of Bacardi and external government agencies.

To be successful in this role you will have / be:
  • University degree Accounting or Business Administration
  • Strong analytical and diagnostic skills
  • Strong experience in tax accounting, tax provisions and corporate income tax. 
  • Previous experience in tax filings-reporting– tax returns: 2-3 years at least.
  • Previous accounting experience beyond tax: 2-3 years at least.
  • Latin America tax filings experience: preferable
  • Previous experience with SAP is a must
  • Previous experience in Shared Services environment- preferred
  • Big 4 previous experience- preferred
  • Must be fluent in English (another language is a plus)
  • Proficiency with the MS Office Suite (particularly MS Excel) and MS SharePoint
  • Detail oriented with the ability to capture information in a clear, concise manner and can adapt information for various audiences
