About the role

Working in our Western Europe team based in central Amsterdam, the Supply Chain Portfolio and Innovation Manager will work closely with the central Supply Chain team in Geneva and key European stakeholders (critically this will be the local and regional customer marketing teams) to ensure progress in these key indicators of success:

New Product Introduction (NPI) Delivery On Time
  • Ensure perfect process connection from the Central team, factories and markets for all promotions, new product introduction (NPI) & point of sale (POS) materials and continually review & improve the process.
  • Develop processes & tools to measure & drive the improvement of their delivery on time at customer considering activity cycle timings, critical paths, market constraints
  • Actively manage market needs (bottom-up vs. top down) with all stakeholders to ensure visibility of risks & ultimately delivery on-time
Portfolio Simplification & Harmonization
  • Work with regional customer marketing (CPA) to ensure continuous simplification & harmonization of  Western Europe (WEU) portfolios
  • Be the WEU market supply representative at Brand business / range reviews to ensure wide supply chain inputs and outputs
  • Link with central supply team for wider portfolio improvements
Special Projects
  • Drive special projects involving the portfolio in WEU 
  • Support multi-brand promotions and cost optimization projects
In this role you will mostly find yourself in the Amsterdam office, but can expect to travel to visit the local and global teams across Western Europe


  • Be a specialist in the tools and processes associated with New Product Introduction (NPI) for WEUR
  • Develop any ways of working that facilitate the end to end innovation process and ultimate delivery on time in full to customers
  • Help manage timings of market inputs into the various processes to ensure clarity and quality of delivery
  • Escalate and highlight where multi-country projects need adjustment or interventions
  • Improve the cross-over of POS Materials to value added packs (VAPs) to ensure a seamless coverage of the process
  • Input into brands reviews to enable a wider view and more effective management of the portfolio
  • Input and ensure outputs are shared from POS and Innovation reviews
  • Develop tools and ensure a common process for portfolio reviews in WEUR including KPI
  • Be the WEUR supply representative for projects impacting the regional portfolio and innovation processes.
  • Support the evaluation of the business cases (cost / benefits/ risks/ oppportunities) associated with simplification and harmonisation
  • Work with TRN community / specialists to quickly evaluate risks or opportunities for WEUR projects

Skills and Experience

  • You will have 5 to 7+ years experience in S&OP, Innovation and/or Portfolio Management,. Alternatively similar length of experience in continuous improvement or activity management 
  • Your familiarity and knowledge in project management and complexity reduction will be well recognised
  • Analytical and collaborative problem solving skills.
  • Good depth of customer and market knowledge / skills
  • This experience should have been gained in an FMCG environment, preferably in Supply Services department
  • Multi country experience alongside in-market experience is preferred
  • Cross-functional leadership
  • Language Skills: Fluent English; Other European languages an advantage
  • You may have worked in a plant planning team at one stage of your career and / or central planning function

  • Proficient in supply chain issues within an integrated planning environment
  • Mastery of Project Management
  • Mastery of analysis and reasoning
  • Excellent general IT literacy
  • Proficient in Product Innovation and Logistics / Distribution processes
  • Communication : Structures and presents technical data in a clear and logical format.
