About the role

WHAT DOES A SHIFT LEAD DO?

Reporting to the Senior Bottling Production Manager, you will lead, and manage a team of Bottling Operators to safely and efficiently achieve performance targets such as:
Staff & Site Health, Safety and Environmental Compliance:
Product Quality Standards and excellence.
Team development, engagement, empowerment and cultural alignment – to Bacardi global values. 
Operational efficiencies (OEE/MTBF) and Cost KPI’s to deliver business targets.
Site standards, GMP, 6S, HACCP, Hygiene and general organisation – in line with the Bacardi Operating System
Continuous Improvement activities across the shift as part of day to day working
Ownership of the team dynamic and it’s performance.
Ability to work flexibly, as part of the wider Management Team, to plan and organise work groups to achieve operations plans.

Responsibilities

WITH OUR CONSUMER AT THE HEART, YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE TO:
  • Production Performance:-
    • Maintain and ensure Company policies & standards around Safety, Environment and Compliance.
    • Ensure production plan is delivered to all quality, cost, and efficiency targets - on a daily & weekly basis achieving agreed business priorities.
    • Optimising labour utilisation and shift capability/flexibility.
    • Document and report all required records, trackers, systems & downtimes
    • Produce a shift report
  • Quality Performance:-
    • Achieve EOL target in line with company KPI’s ensuring all Operator checks are completed as per schedule
  • EHS:-
    • Ensure of team and individual compliance in EHS to 14001 & 18001 standards
    • Initiate and implement EHS activities using problem solving tools/methods such as root cause analysis and the PDCA cycle
    • Ensure competition of near miss reports and incidents as per procedure
  • People:-
    • Work closely with the Line Structure Team to deliver agreed targets and KPI’s
    • Support Development and training of shift team in line with business requirements 
    • Completing first line investigations
    • Accountable for people management and deployment on shift
  • Hygiene:-
    • Ensure all standards GMP & hygiene procedures are complied  
    • Support 6s audits at monthly intervals across cells using radar audit sheet as per agreed schedule.
  • Continuous Improvement:-
    • Support CI meetings to generate and complete improvement activities using problem solving methods

Communication:-

As the Weekend Shift Manager – independence and ability to work autonomously – but still within standards – is critical. Effective escalation and shift communication is also an important element of the role.

THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED TO CREATE YOUR LEGACY:
  • Functional Excellence:
    • Able to use all Microsoft tools including Excel, Word and Powerpoint 
    • Highly organised and comfortable working within a team and on own initiative, but able to work within set parameters
    • Proven experience in effectively working with people, processes, projects and change management in a production led environment
    • Experienced in liaising with and across a variety of sectors at all levels
  • Experience:
    • Line Managerial and Team Leadership / Supervisory experience in an FMCG environment
    • Generate and interpret process related documentation
    • Experience in using CI tools 
    • Ability to build flexibility/skills rotation
    • SVQ Level 3 in Management/NEBSM or equivalent desirable but not essential as training would be provided
