About the role

Your Opportunity 

The role of Whisky Blender shall operate across the seven sites of Bacardi Operations in Scotland, as well interacting and collaborating with the Multi-award winning Global Bacardi Blending community. 

Based in the Glasgow HQ site, this role is pivotal to ensuring that the Dewar’s and William Lawson’s portfolio of Blended Scotch whiskies and single malts are blended to the exact specifications of the recipes. The successful candidate will also be required to assess the sensory attributes of new make spirit, matured spirit and finished products, as well as new and emptied casks and to assess and train others in sensory analysis. The Whisky Blender will also play an active role in cask management and the creation of new single malt and blended expressions.


With our Consumer at the heart, your key focus will be:
  • At all times adhere to Safety, Quality and Sustainability requirements at all Bacardi sites.  
  • Ensure the Spirit Quality of all brands in the portfolio through adherence to the recipes and specifications and Standard Operating Procedures. 
  • Working with the Master Blender and wider Spirit Supply team to achieve the objectives of UK Operations Centre and the wider Bacardi business. 
  • Work with the Master Blender to develop and maintain recipes for new and existing products, as well as developing and maintaining the wood profiles for new and existing products. 
  • Work with the Master Blender and the Blending and Planning team to prepare the fillings plans in accordance with the wood profile. 
  • Work with Spirit Supply and Planning Manager and the cask forwarding agent to plan the new wood intake. In addition to this engage with cask suppliers to drive quality and innovation.
  • Generate reports as required regarding inventory position, utilizing the inventory management system. 
  • Generate scenario models of our inventory as required. 
  • Support the annual forecasting process.  

Skills and Experience

The Skills and Experience needed to create your legacy:
  • Preferably 3+ years of relevant experience in operational areas of the whisky industry preferably Blending, Bulk Supply or a related area.  
  • Super User or daily user of DRAMS or other inventory management system is highly desirable.  
  • Competent user of Microsoft Excel.  
  • Excellent Data Collection, Planning and Reporting Skills   
  • Education to Degree level or equivalent Science/Technical based degree. 
  • Excellent communication skills.
