About the role

Your Opportunity

Based in the Glasgow UK Operations Headquarters site, the role of Whisky Stocks Planner will center around the selection of casks (primarily warehoused at Bacardi’s Westthorn and Poniel maturation sites), ensuring that the Dewar’s and William Lawson’s portfolio of blended scotch whiskies and single malts are blended to exact formula specifications. 
Experienced with using DRAMS, the successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and reporting bulk inventory activity. Involvement in our planning process is also key, providing periodic reports to stakeholders on the status of Bacardi’s maturing bulk scotch whisky inventory.

Responsibilities

With our Consumer at the heart, your key focus will be to:
  • At all times adhere to Safety, Quality and Sustainability requirements at all Bacardi sites.  
  • Plan and pick casks for blends and single malts to ensure adherence with the short, medium and long term bottling demand. 
  • Liaising with Production Planning and Materials team on a weekly basis, ensuring that bottling requirements for spirit are met and any changes are actioned.
  • Efficiently communicate blending requirements with all relevant stakeholders to ensure an achievable weekly plan is created. 
  • In line with bulk spirit requirements, ensure a constant buffer of available blends that can be supported by inventory.
  • Schedule re-casking and marrying activities in line with bottling forecasts and NPD projects
  • Periodically review and report bulk blending activities and the maturing inventory position -vs- forecasts to key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the Blending Team in the production of blend recipes to support future forecasts taking inventory availability / cask mix into account.
  • Participate in projects to continuously improve the dept’s performance or in areas e.g. bulk warehousing, where the dept has an influence.

Skills and Experience

The Skills & Experience needed to create your legacy
  • Experience in operational areas of the whisky industry, preferably Blending, Bulk Supply or a related area.  
  • Experience with DRAMS or other inventory management system is highly desirable.  
  • Excellent user of Microsoft Excel.  
  • Excellent Data Analysis and Reporting Skills.
  • Education to Degree level. 
  • Excellent communication skills.
