About the role

YOUR OPPORTUNITY

Based in the Glasgow H.Q. site the role of Whisky Stocks Planner will primarily centre around providing strategic analytical support to the Inventory / Blending Function, as well as the daily selection of stock for the Dewar’s portfolio of Scotch whiskies.
Excellent data analysis and presentation skills are a must, with key responsibilities on bulk inventory activity providing periodic reports to key stakeholders on the status of Bacardi’s maturing bulk Scotch Whisky inventory.

Responsibilities

WITH OUR CONSUMER AT THE HEART YOUR KEY FOCUS WILL BE:
  • Plan and pick casks for blends and single malts to ensure adherence with the short, medium and long-term bottling plans. 
  • Contribute to the Long-Term Planning Process (LTP) reviewing proposed marketing strategies and forecasts.
  • Continually review inventory depletions -vs- forecasts communicating any impact on maturing inventory availability to key stake holders
  • Prepare, execute and present inventory scenarios based on changing market demand 
  • Maximise the potential of the maturing inventory by means of identifying and communicating opportunities and challenges to the Blending Team.
  • Create the annual NMS filling plan in collaboration with the Cask Supply Specialist / Bulk Planning Team, ensuring an even spread of inventory is filled into the right cask type across the year.
  • Devise strategies to maximise efficiency in warehousing operations in the way stocks are laid down and subsequently depleted for vattings.
  • Participate in projects to continuously improve the dept’s performance or in areas e.g bulk operations, where the dept has an influence.
  • At all times adhere to Safety, Quality and Sustainability requirements at all Bacardi sites.  

Skills and Experience

THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED TO CREATE YOUR LEGACY
  • Education to Degree level. 
  • Preferably 3+ years of relevant experience in operational areas of the whisky industry preferably Blending, Bulk Supply or a related area.  
  • Daily user of DRAMS or other inventory management systems is highly desirable.  
  • Excellent user of Microsoft Excel or other data analysis software
  • Excellent Data Collection, Data Analysis, Planning and Reporting Skills   
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
